1. What is imaging?
Imaging is a state-of-art service that captures "pictures"
of your checks and reproduces them on a laser printer in an
easy-to-use statement. Your statements will be 3-hole punched
to fit in a binder provided at no charge to Coconut Grove
Bank customers.
2. How will
I balance my account without my checks?
It is easier than ever. Your statement will have a first page
very similar to the one you receive now, with a recap of the
month's activity and balances. Each check image will appear
on the following pages in numerical order.
3. What
if I need a canceled check for proof of payment?
Check images are accepted by the IRS and by merchants as proof
of payment. In most cases, your statement will be acceptable.
In fact, with your checks in numerical order and conveniently
stored in your Coconut Grove Bank three- ring binder, it should
be a simple task to find the canceled check you need. If you
need a copy of a check image you have not yet received, you
can call us and request a copy by check number and we will
send it to you by fax, mail, or email.
4. Why are
you providing check imaging statements?
For two very important reasons. First of all, this should
make balancing your checkbook and keeping files much easier
for you. No more sorting and storing of bulky, loose checks.
Also, it helps keep our costs down, which means we can keep
our fees as low as possible.
5. How
can I make sure my imaged copies are legible?
Your imaged copies will be clearer if you use black or blue
ink. Some check designs may not image as clearly as others.
If you are having a problem just ask us and we will assist
you in selecting an "image friendly" check design
that will work better.
6. How do
I read imaged checks?
Below each check image, in larger print, is the check number,
check amount, and date it was posted to your account, providing
ease in balancing your statement and reference information.
7. What
if I want the back of my checks printed or need proof of payment?
We can print the back of the check evidencing the endorsement
upon your request. As stated above, the imaged check is as
valid as the original check.
8. What
happens to my original?
The original checks are destroyed after 45 days. Your imaged
check will be available for many years.
